2016… What can I add which has not been stated in any other editorial, speech or Christmas letter without boring you. I believe that everything has been said and written about our dear President, Brexit, Trump et al.
2016 was a year of growing stronger, building character and increasing hope.
Many of you will know the old Ethiopian saying that, “Calm seas does not make skilful sailors”.
I believe that 2016 provided us with the opportunity to fine tune our sailing skills.
That said I look forward to 2017. Not because of some arbitrary hope that things will necessarily be better on the economic or political front, but because of the hope that we are getting better and better in finding JOY, PEACE and CALMNESS, despite our circumstances.
I believe the challenge for 2017 must be to show greater character and strength in difficult situations, to put our personal needs and wants second to that of other people and to focus on the personal aspect in each situation.
This will enable us to grow and achieve success in 2017 despite external circumstances.
I trust that you will all have a restful and blessed festive season, and a personal word of thanks to each one of you for your contributions to DTS over the past year.
